All I can say is.. never explain yourself to anyone because the person who likes you doesn't need it.. and the person who dislikes you wouldn't belive it.
It's up to you if to take my words negatively.
So, why not talk to that person instead? It's the best thing that you can do.

well for that one i think you need to talk to the one who saw you in the act and ask if where,what,when did he/she saw you with the one whom you are with...(that what you call OPEN ENDED QUESTIONS)...hehehehehehehehehe..and you don't have to be very reactive or whatever right..???coz if your not doin something bad or foolishness then go...
